No Doubt

El Arreciado - Spain - 2019 I started looking for rusty metal waste, to experiment and make rust spots on fabric, but still no idea where it would go, and how the experiment would result. In the mean time I made brushes from wool and branches, small and thin, but also larger and very large. Then I looked for clay and charcoal to make different paints. I used wool to create a stage in the woods. Finally, a few things came together naturally and I asked Emma if she wanted to paint on my canvas. Emma had been drawing a lot and was inspired by the environment. Just before leaving, Emma finished the painting. I didn't allow myself time to think deeply. So no time to doubt. That's how it should be. It was a beautiful process and a great result.

Tree ornament - NatureArtPark - 2019 Inspired by Gothic church-windows. Made of waste plastic. It is unfortunate that such material is needed in the industry at all. Plastic that can be reused. But, itd does not yet reach all companies. Apparently it is easier to just dispose of it. I give the artwork a higher spherical image. Beautiful but at the same time saddening. A symbolic image for the plastic everywhere, made and left by human hands.

El Arreciado - Spain - 2018 An old house without a roof and half walls. This ruin is still uninhabitable, but with a little imagination you can imagine how ever lived. Actually, the ruin is already beautiful in itself. The chaos and mess of stones. The crumbling walls. The lichens and algae that have grown on the stones over the years. The wood that is still visible here and there, but slowly dies away. I added a new element to this house. I searched for the right composition. The old walls of stone and the new material, the freshly shorn wool, are in synergy with each other. They are instantly complementary. I made a strip of wool through the house. And on the top a line of red clay powder.

Tree of Life

El Arreciado - Spain - 2017 I have been inspired by the theory of evolutionary by Darwin. Darwin developed a Tree of Life. At this moment the earth count over one billion species organisms. New organisms are discovered annually. So the Tree of Life is constantly changing, because our insights and knowledge develop further. This is my Tree of Life. This is my view of love to nature, and designed from my view of art. Nature is dynamic. The only way to survive is to adapt to the changes. That's what my art is about, also. My outdoor artworks change by nature over time. I want to show the 'raw' material, to feel and smell. The visitors of my installations undergo an experience. So, that also happened at the presentation day in El Arreciado. I'm still enjoying it afterwards!

Floating Pearls

Water Land - NatureArtpark - 2015 - Lelystad Floating islands of willow-branches, and an elegant large chain of balls of felt. The islands and the chain of balls will in motion continuously, depending on the wind, rain and the flow of the water. The branches and felt are natural material and will invite birds to select woolen tufts for their nest. So this artwork changed by nature over time.

Floating Nest

The journey of Floating Nest. Vuurol 2014, performance-sculpture of In Part. In September 2014 Floating Nest moves to the water at the Provinciehuis. Part of Remains in Balance, exhibition in the Provinciehuis, an impressive butoh dance by Kristien Sonnevijlle. Then 'Floating Nest' was transferred to the water in Poldertuin in Lelystad. After that it became a nest for sculptures on the water. Floating Nest was left to nature, so it slowly disappeared.
